Yesterday Hiroko, a friend of my friend, came from Japan to do her research in Prambanan Temple. I will help her to translate and find interviewees for 2 weeks. Before her coming, Hiroko-sam asked me about my request of Japanese stuff, I was confused. I couldn't decide one at first, but finally I asked for washi and small Japanese agenda for 2010. Surprisingly she also brought me 2 kind of snacks from Japan. One of the snacks was my favorite during my staying in Japan.

Araaaaaaaaaaaaa, karubi- jyagariko da!!! Natsukashiiiiii.........

Yup, karubi- jyagariko or Calbee potato sticks. It was my favorite one because so crunchy and not too salty. I and my students in English courses used to have it as snacks-game (our secret activities, fufufufu). When there was discount for this snack, I used to buy some cups (or boxes??) for my own savings.

It is been a year after my returning home from Japan. Honestly, there are so many things that I missed, for example takoyaki, konbini, smell of Japanese meals, kaki, ume boshi, wasabi, many kinds of sncaks, macha flavor ice cream, macha, nori, sashimi, udon, and many more. If I was being asked to make a list, it will be very long or high just like a mountain!!! So, I'm praying harder now for being granted by the Monbukagakusho scholarship for next year. I do miss Japan and hope to come back there again soon.
